Hi, mommas! How was your weekend? We had a nice time just staying around the neighborhood, grilling some delicious steaks, enjoying ranch waters and throwing the ball around in the backyard. The current weather forecast in Dallas is completely inhumane, but we’re making the most of it.
If no one has told you recently, you’re doing a wonderful job with your children. They are blessed to have you.
You deserve a break, and below I have rounded up some fun links to yummy recipes, things that will make you laugh, warm your heart and feed your soul. I hope you are able to curl up with a cozy blanket, a nice cup of coffee, maybe a little soothing music in the background and take a break. Have a wonderful day!
Something pretty– More than ever, these adorable Travel-Size Scripture Cards from Crew + Co would be such a comfort and make a wonderful gift!
Something to make your ears smile– Esperanza Spalding’s “I Know You Know” has a permanent spot on my favorites list. It’s an instant “happy.”
Something to move that beautiful body– Do you follow the Syncopated Ladies? Their modern tap dances make me want to dust off the old tap shoes. However they’re doing just a bit more than the “falaps” I’m used to … ha!
Something interesting– For his “The Descendants” photo series, photographer Drew Gardner tracks down the progeny of historical figures and uses them to recreate their famous ancestors’ portraits. The results are fascinating.
Something to make you laugh– I actually snorted with laughter when I saw this cartoon. Exactly.
Also, were you able to escape the ’80s without getting a Glamour Shot? Good girl. This beauty blogger always makes me laugh, and her ’80s makeup tutorial does not disappoint.
Something yummy– Do you need a hug? These pecan pie brownies from Southern Living are nothing but love.
A little something extra:
1. My husband likes to joke that I have a “real estate porn” problem. He’s right, and it’s because of properties like this 1758 New York farmhouse. I cannot get over these views …
2. Have you ever made a nacho table? We might just have to add this to the Riney dinner rotation.
3. The fabulous Beekman 1802 Boys just painted the exterior of the Beekman Mercantile in their brandmark gingham pattern, and I’m so here for it. Isn’t that what the kids say?
