Pretty Things: Wesley and Rose Curiosity Shop

Vintage home decor and accessories can add such interest and character to modern homes, but many people don’t know where to start. That’s where Dallas mom Celeste Chumlea comes in.

With a background in retail merchandising and a love for design, Chumlea launched Wesley and Rose Curiosity Shop in January of this year. Wesley and Rose offers a curated collection of vintage gems from estate sales, flea markets and thrift stores. “I hope to teach others how to work vintage decor into their modern homes,” says Chumlea.

Chumlea’s collection is inspired by her stylish grandparents, Wesley and Rose. “Their home and personal style was influenced by mid-century designs, a love of entertaining and an insatiable appetite for worldly travels … all with a touch of Southern charm,” she says. “An Arthur Court brass ladybug, a Curtis Jere starburst wall sculpture, a Kron Panther TV lamp, a pair of giant brass peacocks … if an item has the nostalgia factor for me and reminds me of my grandparents, it’s a must have.”

When Chumlea is not hunting for vintage finds, she’s busy chasing around her three-year-old son and caring for her (more than 50!) houseplants. You can shop the Wesley and Rose Curiosity Shop collection here, and don’t miss our giveaway (a blue-and-white Nantucket porcelain planter/vase and a pair of brass, pillar candle holders, a $70 value) on Instagram and Facebook this week!
